Development Centre Novo mesto (DC NM), established in 1997, plays a vital role in supporting regional development, entrepreneurship, and technology in South-East Slovenia. With a dedicated team of 34 experts, DC NM fosters entrepreneurship and regional growth through core values such as excellence, creativity, and cooperation.
As a regional development agency, DC NM is instrumental in preparing strategic plans, managing regional projects, and promoting rural and tourism development, particularly focusing on enhancing Dolenjska as a key tourist destination. In the field of entrepreneurship, DC NM operates the Business Incubator Podbreznik (BIP), which has supported the creation of over 55 companies, generating more than 180 jobs with a high survival rate of above 90%.
To address challenges related to the lack of SMEs and skilled labor, DC NM has developed the Center for Research, Development, and Innovation (CRDI) and LABTOP, an industrial learning lab that showcases smart factory technologies. These initiatives help drive innovation and support the development of advanced technologies in the region.
Additionally, DC NM serves as a central hub for regional information, project ideas, and initiatives, ensuring that stakeholders have access to necessary resources and knowledge. The Project Office within DC NM ensures the successful development and implementation of various projects, contributing to the efficient, growth-oriented operations of the organization.
