Hidria was established in 1971 as an electric motor manufacturer for HVAC systems but significantly expanded into the automotive sector after 2000. Today, with annual sales of 400 million EUR and 2,000 employees across eight locations in Slovenia, Germany, Hungary, and China, the company has established itself as a key Tier-2 automotive supplier.
Hidria is currently ranked among the top three global suppliers of diesel cold-start systems and among the top ten global suppliers of electrical steel for EV/HEV automotive applications. The company exports the majority of its products to leading automotive markets, including Germany, France, Italy, the USA, Japan, and China.
Its main customers include major OEMs such as Volkswagen, BMW, Volvo Trucks, the PSA Group, General Motors, and Ford, as well as Tier-1 suppliers like Bosch, Faurecia, JTEKT, ZF/TRW, Nidec, John Deere, and Deutz.
Hidria has received multiple national innovation awards and was the recipient of the 2016 CLEPA Best Innovation Award for its groundbreaking Hidria OPTYMUS Pressure Sensor Glow Plug. Additionally, in 2013, it was recognized as the Most Innovative Company in Europe by the European Business Awards.
