About

The Institute of Civilization and Culture is a lively center of various social science and humanistic considerations based on basic, targeted and applied research. Core interests being the history and development of media and democracy, historical and cultural anthropology, sustainability studies and solutions. Mobility is one of the biggest environmental challenges we face. Humans use and apparently need an endless network of transportation means and systems to uphold their lives, societies, and economies. Sustainable mobility of all types, vehicles and purposes requires a change in mindset, where transport in passenger cars and trucks gives way to various modes of public transport. It is about a shift in the perception of oneself and one’s own means of transport as personal freedom, about the concept of public and private and much more.
