About

The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, located in the heart of Ljubljana, is the largest institution for education and research in mechanical engineering in Slovenia. It houses 16 Chairs, 33 Laboratories, and a Unit for Supplementary Division, with nearly 500 employees and 1,493 students enrolled for the 2024/2025 academic year. With almost 20,300 graduates, including over 580 PhD recipients, the faculty is a key player in the academic and research community. Scientific research at the faculty spans a wide range of fields, including power and process engineering, design, mechanics and maintenance of machines, production engineering, mechatronics, micromechanical systems, and automation. The faculty’s researchers are involved in both national basic and applied projects, as well as numerous international collaborations, working closely with scientific research centers and industry partners.
