The R&D center NELA, established in 2011, is a hightech service company founded by leading Slovenian companies in the electrical and electronics industry. Its activities focus on three key areas of development. The first area is quality assurance and technology transfer, where the center collaborates on establishing joint laboratories capable of performing advanced technological procedures in measurement, characterization, and certification of materials and components. The second area is the development of energy-efficient electrical machinery, where NELA aims to build competencies in creating complex components for modern electrical machines, including the use of new materials.
The third area focuses on switchgear, with an emphasis on developing protection, control, and energy-efficient components for electrical machines, specifically from Slovenia.
In addition to these core areas, NELA also addresses the technological needs of its partners through joint projects and the creation of new collaborative activities. These initiatives contribute to the development of globally competitive knowledge, the creation of new product generations, and the provision of high-quality support services, including testing, measurement, characterization, and certification in specialized laboratories. Currently, the R&D center NELA employs 37 development experts, whose work is primarily focused on the Slovenian market.
