Our partner ESAA – Euro-Sino Automotive Association carried out an intensive business mission to China in October and November, representing three companies, including two ACS members. They visited 14 specialized companies and mobility centers and established key contacts for forming strategic partnerships and business deals.
Huawei’s store of mobile phones, computers, and advanced vehicles of the HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance), where under Huawei’s umbrella, vehicles with the Harmony OS digital system are produced by car companies Chery, Seres, BAIC, JAC, and SAIC.
ESAA, together with companies, develops collaborations that include:
– joint access to Chinese OEMs in Europe,
– licensing; opportunities for technology and know-how exchange,
– localization of procurement and production ‘local-for-local’, and
– supply of components and products.

During visits to various Chinese companies, the partners also gained an in-depth understanding of the pricing structure of products from Chinese competitors. In addition, they got closely acquainted with autonomous vehicles, toured a distribution center for the export of Chinese automotive components, and test drove the most advanced Chinese passenger cars, which impress European consumers with technological sophistication, build quality and materials, as well as automated driving systems that far surpass the capabilities of similar systems in Europe.
The autonomous vehicle Zelos, which is already being tested in neighboring Austria as well.
Chinese companies are currently expanding very intensively into Europe, especially in the region of Eastern and Southeast Europe. For Slovenia, it is strategically important to establish partnerships in a timely manner and become part of their ecosystem. At present, these partnerships are being actively formed outside our borders, with Chinese companies entering into partnerships with our European competitors or entering the European market independently, thus representing technologically advanced competition.
