The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (UM FERI) is a leading technical faculty at the University of Maribor, internationally recognized for its role in transferring advanced technical knowledge into industry. As the largest faculty at the university, it has 2,200 students, over 10,500 graduates, and nearly 330 successfully defended PhDs.

Home to 14 research groups and more than 300 employees, including 200 researchers, UM FERI is one of the largest research institutions in north-eastern Slovenia. Its cutting-edge research bridges theoretical foundations with practical applications, driving innovation across various industries.

The faculty has a rich history dating back to 1960. Initially founded to support the industrial needs of Slovenia’s then-leading industrial hub, it evolved into its current form in 1995. Today, UM FERI continues to advance technology and education through its strong commitment to scientific research and innovation.
