Since we at SRIP ACS+ have determined that in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the Slovenian automotive industry, it is essential to address the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and systematically integrate it into all areas of business and institutional operations, our members have joined forces and established a Working Group for AI.
Based on the experience of other working groups already operating within SRIP ACS+, we have concluded that this type of networking is the most effective way to exchange good practices and define areas of activity that are in the interest of participants. The working group will systematically connect experts in the field of artificial intelligence, and its members will follow developments, identify common challenges and opportunities, organize activities, and set up projects.
At the inaugural meeting, participants presented the areas in which they use AI, ranging from improving quality in production processes, optimizing raw material consumption, digital twins, and humanoid robots to administrative matters, text writing, patent applications, and software. They also agreed on the need to establish regular group meetings to showcase both good and bad practices of companies in order to generate new ideas and organize workshops or a so-called AI Academy with external experts for a better understanding of this field.

The automotive industry in Slovenia generates approximately 10% of the GDP and almost 25% of Slovenian exports (source: SPIRIT Slovenia). All members of SRIP ACS+, including all areas of mobility, contribute more than 17% to Slovenian GDP. Our members generate more than 8 billion euros in annual revenue, most of them operating as tier 1 and 2 suppliers to global vehicle manufacturers. Annually, SRIP ACS+ members receive more than 25% of all awarded innovations of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia originating from the automotive industry.
